HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-25-1939 60 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS AND SAFETY' CITY 07 RICH OND,INDIANA, FRIDAY,AUGUST 25th, 1939 The Board Of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board,Friday, August 25th,1939 at 9 :00 o'clock A.M. Messrs. John R. Britten Simeon W. Hodgin and Henry U. Johnson being present the following proceedings were had ?: to-wit ; The minutes of the' proceeding meeting were approved as read. A request for tables ,for stands at the Market House wasrefused by the Board there being none available at this time. ©-RPERD The board recommended that American Flags be raised in the mornings and taken down at sun set during the summer months at the City Building and in Glenn Miller Park, Mr. Frisby was ins- tructed to purchase a flag at Brehms and proceed with the ins- tructions. - Friday August 25th 1939 ,being the date set for the hearing of any remonstrances on the assessment of benefits and damages on the vacation of a portion of an Old Road running across and through Tract 181 Official Map in the City of Richmond, Indiana, and there being no remonstrance, the -Board confirmed all previ- ous proceedings taken,as in Declaratory Resolution No .278-1939, A request for the use of, the Municipal Base Ball Park :for Foot Ball was refused on account of the damage it might do to the grass. Mayor Britten stated the new traffic signes for the City was ready and instructed the Street department to go to Mich- igan City Indiana, after same. After allowing claims to the amount of $4,727 . 35 they adjourned. Attest ; hairman City Clerk
