HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-21-1939 54 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, July 21st , 1939 The Board of Public Works and Safety o.f the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, July 21st , 1939 at 9 :00 o' clock A.M. Messrs . John R. Britten Simeon W. Hodgin and Henry U.Johnson being present the following procee- dings were had .to-wit ; The minutes of the preceedings meeting was read and approved. The Board authorized the removal ofthe bunks in the north room in the basement of the City Building and the Street Depart ment and Fire Department were instructed to prepare it for a work room to be used for painting Street Si nes. A committee composed of the Mayor,Fire Chief and the Chief of Police were appointed to make an investigation as to the traffic signes needed in the City. A committee apointed to tabulate the Coal Bids composed of the City engineer, City Controller and theStreet Superintendent sub- mitted the following report , and recommended purchase as follows— Item Item No .1- 150 tons ';pest Virginia:nut and slack delivered to City Building price "'456"`per ton, to Neiwoehner- Long Corporation. Item No .2- 100 tons Pocahontas mire run delivered to Bose iou- ses�c o . 2-3-4&5 price 75. 20 per ton, to Sam Jaffee. Item No .3- 60 tons straight Poca hontas Mine Run delivered to Park Department Creep House price $557 to Huff cr- ain and Coal Company. Item No .4- 30 tons Pocahontas Mine Run delivered to Street De- partment Garage price $5. 50 per ton to Shera Coal and Oil Company. Item No. 5- 15 tons Kentucky Block delivered to Glenn Miller Park dwellings price $5. 24 per ton to Muff Grain and Coal Company. Item No . 6- 15 tons Pocahontas Nut delivered to Police Radio Station price $5.70 per ton to Klehfoth-Voss Coal Company. The Board a-pordved the recommendation of the Committee. A Declaratory Resolution No 276-1939 was adopted and- approved by the Board, a hearing to be held for any remonstrators August llth 1939 , at 10 :00 o ' clock in the office of. the Said Board. A request for a building permit in accordance with the Munic= ipal Building Code the following to be known as ruling No. 1- 1939, is established herewith connection and in addition to said code; Approving the use of ply-wood pre-fibercated dwellings not over one(1) story in height . Constructed according to the Manuf- acture 's Specifications and providing the building is located outside the Fire-Limits . Was approved and Signed. by L.G.
