HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-14-1939 OFFICE OFT E BOARD OF "7ORKS AND St�:FETY CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, JULY 14th, 1939 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of_ Richmond Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, July 14t_h,1939 at 9 :o' clock. A.M. Messrs. John R. Britten, .Simeon W. Hodgin: and Henry U. Johnson being present the following proceedings were had to-wit•, The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved. 11/ A Petition for opening and extending an alley between southwest 17th Street and East Haven Avenue, signed by several citizens was approved, and the date set for the hearing of any remonst- rances, being August 4th, 1939 . A previous request for lights to, be installed from South 0 to Q Streets Between fourth and Eighth Streets and refered to the Light Plant Superintendent for an estimate cost was presented to the Board and was approved, there being Nine four amp. In- candescent Penant Type Lamps to be installed at a total estim- ate cost of ti7756.93. A letter was presented from the State Board of Tax Commission- ers allowing $3,267 .78 to be paid out of the General Fund to settle the. claim of the Henke Construction on delayed contract. Mr. Willard Carr at the corner of 15th and Main Street reauested the Board to consider reopening an alley in the Wescott Block which was closed some years ago, The alley leading from Mr.Carr' s property to the street . The City Engineer was instructed tocon- fer with those interested,relative to the City taking over and maintaining the existing sanitary sewer at this location. No report was made by the Committee on the Coal Contracts fo the City. • After allowing claims to the amount of $44,392 61 they adjourned. v- Attest ; C irman . City Clerk
