CITY OF RICHWOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY, JUNE 2nd , 1939 .
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, June 2nd ,1939 ,
at 9 :00 o ' clock A.M. Messrs. John R. Britten Simeon W. Hodgin
and Henry U. Johnson II .being present, the following proceedings
were had to-wit ;
The minutes of the pre'ceeding ::rneeting was approved as read
The Pilgrim Holyness Church was granted permission to cond-
uct a tent meeting on the South side of Richmond Avenue near
• the West end of the Doran Bridge on City propert . .
. June the 2nd being the date designated by the Board for the
hearing of any remonstrators . in. regard to the proposed closing
of analley between South K and L, Streets, also a portion of
South K Street from the west line of the first alley west of
Sout h 9th street to the east line of the second alley west of
South 9th Street , running north and south from South J to South
L Street"; No remonstrators being present;
On a motion by Hodgin second by Johnson that the original action
of the Board be confirmed, and the assessment of benefits and
damages be allowed, was approved unanimous®
A request was made by the ladies of the Garden Club for
lights to be installed near the Hill Memorial Garden, in Glenn
Miller, was approved, and refered to Light Plant Superintendent .
After allowing claims to the amount of . 8, 544.97 they
adjourned.
