HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-12-1939 38 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIA_NA, FRIDAY, MAY 12th, 1939 . - The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richm- ond , Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, May 12th, 1939 , at 9 :00 O' clock A.M. Messrs. John R.Britten, Simeon W. Hodgin and Henry U. Johnson II being present, the following proceedings were had to-wit ; The minutes of the preceedirig -meeting Were_: approved- as read. A Declaratory Resolution to vacate an alley between. Bnuth K. and South L. Streets was presented to the Board, this ,be- ing known as Resolution NO. 16-1939 . Also a Resolution to vat cata a portion of South K. Street , this being known as Reso- lution No. 17-1939 , and on a motion by Johnson second by Hod- gin both Resolutions were unanimously approved. These to be advertised in the local newspaper on May 15 and 22nd 1939 , the date being set for"June 2nd 1939, to hear any remonstrators. A petition was presented by Ralph Kittle owner of Lot No. 55 Reeveston Add. on the West side of South -18th:.Street , to cut the Curb to a width of'. 12 feet. This was approved. Mr. M. C. Addington presented a drawing and plan to in- stall a game known as a nine cup Poly Poly in Clear Creek Park, this was refered to the City Engineer for a report.- Er. Alfer Birk appeared with his attorneys Mr. Byron Robbins and Mr. Brandon Griffis in matter of the hearing of remonstr- ators on the assessment of benefits and damages in regards to the vocation of the alley running south from Main Street bet- ween 6th and 7th Streets , hey also presented and filed with the Clerk in a printed form, a remonstrance against the Board' s actions of assessed benefits and damages, it be;_ng signed by Alferd J. Birk, and J. Brandon Griffis Notary Public. On a motion by Johnson second by Hodgin that the original assessment roll of benefits and damages be confirmed. Was approved. Mrs . Dwight Kinsey appeared before the Board asking that light , be placed at South 6th and 0. Streets, this was refer- ed to City Engineer Hodgin, for a report .
