CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY, APRIL28th,1939
The Board of public Works and Safety of the City or Rich-
mond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board , Friday, April
28th 1939 at 9 :00 o ' clock A. M. Messrs John R. Britten Sim-
eon W. Hodgin and Henry U. Johnson II being present the fon-
owing proceedings were had to-wit ;
The minutes of the proceeding meting were approved as read.
The Clerk now reads a fist and roll of al.lthe owners or hol-
ders of property, and of interest th erei :, , sought to be tak-
en or to be injuriously effected,relativs..to closib.g .of alley
between .6th an 7th Streets south of Main Street , which list
said Board had caused to be prepaired, in the matter o.f. R@so-
lution No. 11-1939, , concerning the closing and widening of
alley designated in said resolution,
The Board on motion made and seconded now adopts said assess-
ment roll as read and proceeds ,to fix benefits and damages.
On a motion made by Hodgin second by Johnson the following
resolution was unanimously adopted ; Be it resolved that in the
matter of the closing and widening of a part of the alley run-
ning south from Main Street between 6th and 7th streets in the
City or Richmond, Indiana, as described in Resolution 11-199 ,
that benefits and damages be assessed in cornformity with the
assessment roll herein after appearing, which said roll and
and the damages and benefits assessed are as followes ;

property, and of interest therein, sought to be taken or inju-
riously ._affected by the partial vacation and widening of an
alley, running south from Main Stret , between 6th and 7th st-
reets, in 2sid City of Richmond , Indiana, in accordance with
Resolution No.11-1939 , adopted by the-:'Board of Public Works
and Safety of said City of Richmond, . Indiana;

The Board now sets May 12th 1939 at 10:00 o ' clock A.M.as. date:
for_ hearing remonstrators, if any:and
"- The Clerk was instructed to notify allparties concerned.
On a motion by Johnson second by Hodgin a Resolution known
as No . 15-1939 was adopted and approved; in regard to an exten-
sion of time for the completion Of Auditorium-Gymnasium.
A request .was made for a space in Clear Creek Park for ,a
horse shoe court, which was approved.
City Fireman Beatrice Kelley was. called before the Board
on a complaint filed by Fire Chief Harry Williams, the Board
taking the charges under advisement until the next regular
meeting May the 5th, Fireman Kelley remaining suspended until
that date.
Street Commissioner Burkhardt'the requirements for bids .
on street building material for the remainder of 1939, which
was approved, and the Clerk was instructed to prepare the
same and advertise for bids in the local newspaper. The date.
of acceptance being May 19 , 1939 . .
The Clerk presented a summons from the Wayne Circuit Court,
Cause No. 29600, to the City of Richmond to appear in Court

May 8th, 1939 to answer complaint of Alferd J. Birck in regard
to. vacation of the alley between 6th & 7th streets running south
from Main St .
The Board approved the petition of H. W. rilbert to widen
the curb on East .lain Street at the Old Ball Park to 30 feet.
After approving bills in the amount °8 4 . 0 the Board
adjourned.
