The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Ric'. monc? . Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, March 24thy1939 at 9 :00 0t clock: A.M. Messrs. John R. Britten, Simeon W. Hodgin and Henry U. Johnson II, being present the following proceedings were had. The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read in Council A request was presented to the Board by James Townsend for a light to be installed at the alley intersection on South J. Str- eet west of 7th Street. • Which was approved. �pY City Engineer Hodgin presented letters from three different y Contractors working on the Auditorium- Gymnasium the being the Henke Construction Company, Tibbets Plumbing and Heating Company and the Beltzhoover Electric Company all stating that they would like-to have an extension of time to complete their work on the building, t hey stated that owing to the delay in getting started it would be impossible for them to complete their work at the previous expected date, and they now ask that the Board of Works extend :the time for completion until June 19th, 1939. On motion by Johnson second by Hodgin that such request be granted and the time be extended until June 19-h, 197'9 , and a Resolution known as No . 12-1939 be read and approved was adopted by a unanimous vote . Mr. Enmett Eadler Building Inspector stated that the roof at the Market House needed to be replaced and estimated the cost to be about $160.00 for labor and material. This was approved . He also stated that :.the floor at No. 5 Hose House needed repair and estimated the cost at about $25.00 for labor and material. This was also approved.
