The board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of. said Board,Friday,March 17th, 1939 at 9 :00 o' clock A. M. Messrs John R. Britten, Simeon W. Hodgin and Henry U. Johnson II being present the following proceedings were had to-wit .11/ . The minutes' of the preceeding meeting. were •r.ead and. approved. City attorney Johnson presented to the Board a prepared con- tract for the purpose of leasing Lhe Municipal Ball Park to Frank Iautsky of Indianapolis,Indiana, for the year 1939 ,which .s signed and egreed to by the same, which was approved. A request was presented to the Board by T. B. renkins asking for permission to pave the North half Of the alley between Main street and North A. stree t at his expense, beEinning. 'at 15th St. east 100 feet to the alley intersection, this was approved. `r. Howard Dill and Mr. Milton Elrod appeased before the Board asking permission to lay a Water Main, from West Wain Street South to the National Road on South West 16th Street , a Fire Hydrant to be Placed at the North West Corner 16th and South West B. Streets, which was approved. Several Bidders were present and presented bids on the scrap iron and rails taken up from the streets after the abandament bf.the'.Indiana Railroad. Mr. Sam Jaffe was the successful bidder, his bid being $14.55 per gross ton at the storage site. On a :notion by Hodgin second by Johnson the bid was accepted and approved. No bids were received on 300 feet of Flushin Hose for the Street Department as advertised . A Resolution known as No . 11-1939 inregard to the vacation of the alley running South from Main Street between 6th and 7th streets a distance of (80) feet, was presented to the Board and on a motion by Johnson second by.Hodgin it was approved by unanimous Vote.
