RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
CONTRACT WITH SPADORO & HILSON / WANSKUS V. CARTERET
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has retained the legal services of the
law firm of Spadoro & Hilson in connection with the defense and
prosecution of the matter of Harold Saperstein v. 3ohn Wanskus, et al.,
Docket No. L-950-99; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to increase the authorization previously
provided to the law firm of Spadoro & Hilson pursuant to Resolutions Nos.
01-181 and 01-329 for the aforementioned legal services; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are
available for the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, Count'/of Middlesex, State of New 3ersey as follows:
1. The appointment of the law firm of Spadoro & Hilson
as special counsel in the above referenced legal matter at an
hourly rate of $125 per hour is hereby continued.
2. The authorization for said legal services is hereby
increased by an additional $55,ooo.oofor an increased
maximum cost not to exceed $16~,ooo.oo.
3. This award is made as a professional services contract
pursuant to N._].S.A 40A:11-5(1)(a) and a notice of this
award shall be advertised as required by law.
