RESOLUTION NO. 06-2022
RESOLUTION EVIDENCING INTENT TO AMEND LANDFILL FEES SUBJECT TO
APPROVAL OF THE FISCAL BODY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
WHEREAS, The Richmond Sanitary District (RSD) of the City of Richmond, Indiana, through
its Landfill operation, has determined that it is necessary to amend the schedule of
fees associated with disposal of waste at the Richmond Landfill; and
WHEREAS, RSD, after having conducted a rate analysis, finds that an increase to the Landfill
disposal rates is necessary to pay the cost of operation, repair, depreciation, and
maintenance of the facilities; and
WHEREAS, RSD is requesting that the Richmond Common Council, as the fiscal body of the
City of Richmond, Indiana, after a public hearing, adopt the rate schedule
recommended by this Board by way of an ordinance as set forth in I.C. § 36-9-30-
21; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE Board of Sanitary Commissioners of the
Richmond Sanitary District of the City of Richmond that:
1. The Richmond Sanitary District hereby finds that it is in the best interest of the City
of Richmond, Indiana to amend its Landfill disposal fees so as to sufficiently pay
for the cost of operation, repair, depreciation, and maintenance of the facilities.
2. The Richmond Sanitary District requests that the Richmond Common Council
adopt, by ordinance, the schedule of fees attached to this Resolution.
