HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-06-2022 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA, OCTOBER 6,2022 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,met at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney;Monica Burns,Deputy City Clerk; Lieutenant Donnie Benedict; Cedric James, Code Enforcement; and Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Palmer moved to approve the minutes of September 29, 2022, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for October 7, 2022 in the amount of Two Hundred Thirteen Thousand Two Hundred Ten Dollars and forty three cents ($231,210.43), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment for October 7, 2022 in the amount of Nine Hundred One Thousand Three Hundred Eighty Seven Dollars and eleven cents ($901,387.11), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION-None REQUESTS • NEW HANDICAP SIGNS 322 SW 1st Street Ms.Palmer moved to approve,supported by Mr. Evans.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. Board of Works Minutes October 6,2022 922 Boyer Street Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • HANDICAP SIGN RENEWALS 419 NW"E" Street 14 South 17th Street 120 North 18th Street 380 Hub Etchison Parkway 109 North 6th Street (6 Signs) 2108 Grand Blvd 315 North 13th Street Ms.Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • STREET CLOSURE Veterans' Parade The Park Department, American Legion Post 65, VFW Post 1108 and the Veterans of Wayne County are requesting street closures for the parade at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2022. The proposed parade would proceed from NW 8th Street, down West Main Street ending at the Veteran's Memorial Park and South 1st Street. They are requesting that NW 8th Street from West Main Street to Peacock Road be closed starting at 10:00 a.m. for lineup. The closure of West Main Street from NW 8th Street to 1st Street at 11:00 a.m. These will be rolling closures. Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. BID OPENINGS -None BID AWARDS -None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 157-2022—YOU CALL WE HAUL City retains Contractor to perform services in connection with the cleanup of a premises deemed by the Richmond Unsafe Building Commission to be noncompliant and ordered to be cleaned up. Services shall include the cleanup and removal of trash, debris, rubbish, junk, junked vehicle parts, and inoperable vehicles. The property is located at 306 Randolph Street. Services shall include the cleanup and removal of trash, debris rubbish,junk,junked vehicle parts, and inoperable vehicles. The property is located at 117 Kinsey Street. Not to exceed $525.00 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS -None ADDENDUMS -None RESOLUTIONS-None PETITIONS • CURB CUT— 1211 NW N STREET Ms.Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried.
