Comments received from Noelle Aguiar, Conservation Administrator This project appears to be documented as being outside of the jurisdiction of the Conservation Commission, so we have no comments to send on. Fire Dept. Comments received from Chief Robert Moran 1. The fire code requires parking lot lanes to be at least 20’ in width. I see the roadway in is 24’ but did not see a road width between the interior parking spaces. 2. There is no size of the length of the interior islands. I am requesting the length (east to west) be reduced as much as possible to allow easier movement of our vehicles throughout the lot. 3. I would like to know the status of the potential emergency access road off Ellis Landing that was previously discussed. 4. Should Ocean Edge go through with plans to renovate the Nickerson House and Barn we reserve the right for future comment regarding FD access. 5. Landscaping (tree planting) in the islands shall not prohibit the movement of fire apparatus and ambulances through the lot (think ten years from now). Health Dept. Comments received from Sherrie McCullough, Assistant Health Director Any existing septic components in the location of the proposed parking area must be located, pumped and backfilled, or must be constructed to withstand vehicular traffic (H-20 loading rate) to prevent damage or collapse. Historic District Com. Comments received from Jessica Gelatt, Building Department Assistant The proposed parking lot itself would not be subject to Historic District Committee Review, however the proposed fencing and lamp posts would need to be approved via a Historic District Committee hearing. Police Dept. Comments received from Lt. Charles Mawn The Police Department has no issues at this time.
