OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY DECEMBER 9 , 1938.
The Board of Publis Works and Safety of the City of
R _chmond, Indiana, met in the office of the said Board,
Friday December 9 , 1938, at 9 :00 o' clock A.M. Messrs.
Joseph M. Waltermann, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley,
Jr. , being present the following proceedings were
had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved
as read in Council.
The accident case of Albert Erbse was discussed and
the City Attorney was instructed to find what sort of
settlement could be made and report back to the Board.
Permission to cut the curb a distance of 8' at
901 SW "A" Street was granted Mrs. Grace Miller.
The Board approved the re-newal of the oil contract
with the Standard Oil Company for the furnishing of
of oil for the Sewage Disposal Plant for the year 1939.
A discussion was had about the Christmas trees
which had been placed in the center of Main Street
by the Retail Merchants Association, and the possibilty
of accidents, and the City' s liability in the same,
and the Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. John O'Maley,
President of the Retail Merchants Association, to either
remove the same or secure insurance which would protect
the city in the event that any accidents occured� due
to these trees.
Claims to the amount of $17 ,779;43 were allowed
after which the Board adjourned.
