OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY OCTOBER 7 , 1938.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of the said Board ,
Friday October 7 , 1938, at 9 :00 o' clock A.M. Messrs.
Joseph M. Waltermann, Simeon W. Hodgin and William Kelley,
Jr. , being present, the following proceedings were had,
to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved
as read.
Permission to cut the curb a distance of 31' 6tt on South •
10th Street, a 2 spaces of 35' on South A Street was granted
E. Harrison Scott.
Carl Myers of the Richmond Water Works Corporation was
before the Board relative to the water main extension which
had been ordered by the Board on SW 16th Street, and explained
that it would require about 360 feet of 6" water main for
this installation and that there was only one house to be
served also that the temporary main which had been installed
by the owner had been repaired. The Board decided to table
this proposition for the time being.
Atwood Jenkins was granted a permit to repair a garage
on Southwest 8th Street, if he would agree in writing to
move the same at his own expense whenever the city was ready
_ to build a sidewalk at this location. The Clerk was instructed
to write Mr. Jenkins a letter to this effect .
Tire Chief Harry Williams asked permission of the Board
to purchase some new tires and asked if it was agreeable to
mail notices to the various dealers, instead of advertising.
The Board approved this practice and instructed the Clerk
to mail these notices.
Vincent H. Tuerling was before the Board relative to a
drain from the West 7th Street Park, and the Board agreed
to look into this matter.
Claims to the amount of $6,479.59 were allowed after
which the Board adjourned.
