OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
Friday September 23, 1938.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of the said Board,
Friday September 23, 1938, at 9 :00 o' clock A. M. Messrs. I/
Joseph A_T. Waltermann, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley,
Jr. , being prsent the following proceedings were had,
to-wit :
The- minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved
as read in Council.
Permission to cut the curb a distance of 15 feet
at 230 Reeveston Place was granted Everett McMinn.
The City Controller reported that the City had received
the sum of 6,287.49 from the sale of scrap copper from
the abandoned Indiana Railroad.
Superintendent of Streets Burkhardt was granted
permission to purchasea gasoline air hammer at a cost
of '386.75.
Report was made that it would be necessary to secure
an additional appropriation of $5,000.00 for Equipment
Rental, this appropriation being for TPA work, also that
!:1,000.00 should be transferred from various street
department account to Materials.
The Board adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 273-1938
providing for the vacation of an alley between 10th and
llth and North I and J Streets and set the date of
October 14th for the hearing of remonstrances.
City Controller Ceorge Coons reported that no rental
had been received for the concession at the Municipal
Ball Park for Suhday September 17th. because of the fact
that the holder of the concession contract had been told . th
that there was no. Fame scheduled, b .,t at the last minute
a game had been played but left him in the position of
not having any supplies to be sold.
Claims to the amount of 43,909.81 were allowed afterI/
which the Board adjourned.
