HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-26-1938 4E5 E OFFICE OF THE BOARD 0'F WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, AUGUST 26, 1938 TheBoard.. of Public Works & Safety of the City of Richmon , Indiana, met in the office of the said Board, Friday, August 26, 1938, at 9:00 o ' clock A. M. Messrs . Joseph M. Waltermann, Simeon . Hodgin and Wi lliam H. Kelley, Jr. , being present the following proceedings were had to-wit : The minutes of the prece',dings meeting were approved as read. The contract for the operation of the Municipal Golf Course for a period of 3 years was accepted and signed by the Board and William E. Morrey. City Engineer Hodgin reported tat the Standard Oil company located at West 1st °c Main want to give the city an easement for a sidewalk along east side of station. This being for the safety of school children so they would not have to walk in front of the station. The Board. accepted. same. Mr. Hodgin .reported he had received plans for the public auditorium, and recommended that the committee go over same on Monday afternoon after the letting of the bids for the excavation. I+ir. Dill of the 'cater Works Corporation was before the Board in regard to various water lines in the new additions of the city. He reported that Northwest L had been wanting water, which is out of the city limits , and were to present a petition. Mr. .Hodgin stated it was a possibility they would be taken into the city in the near future . In connection with water Mr. Earl Allen and Mr. Cox were before the Board, wanting water along Pear Street near 8th. After some discussion on various water lines or mains the Board recom_-lended that a 6" main be built in B street or Pearl, from 8th to 10th.
