HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-22-1938 9-0 1 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY DULY 22, 1938. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of the said Board 1/ Friday July 22, 1938, at 9 :00 o' clock A. M. Messrs. Joseph M. Waltermann and Simeon Hodgin being present , the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read in Council. Permission to cut the curb a distance of 12' was granted Ronald H. Cox at 220 South 22nd Street . After a discussion on the leasing of the golf course and taking into consideration that unless this lease was made before next spring, that all improvements would stop, the Clerk was instructed to place the proper legal add for the leasing of the same and notify the public that bids would be received on the date of August 5, 1938, at 10:00 o' clock. Mr. Hodgin presented a deed from the Indiana Railway Compan for a strip of ground 92' tide on the east side of their property at West 5th and Main Street. The Board accepted this deed. Mr. Fred Gennett was before the Board with a request for restricted parking on South 10th at the side of their property, the Board informed Mr. Gennett that this was impossible, but due to the fact that there were quite a large number of children who attended a dancing school in this building, they felt that as a matter of safety for these children that it would be permissable to have a no parking zone at the 10th Street entrance to the building. The Board approved an easement for sewer right-of-way on the Straight Line Pike from George Richardson. This being the date for the receiving of bids for the collection of garbage for the next four years , the Clerk -opened the following bids : Lec:' Ridgeway for a period of four years $41,980.80 Del Davis for a period of one year 9,800.00 'Emmett Eadler one year $8,000.00 4 years 32 ,000.00 Carl Patterson one year period 9, 690.00 Thollie Druly One year $7 ,900. 00 4 years 31,000.00 The Mayor appointed Mr. Hodgin, Mr. Burkhardt and the City Clerk to tabulate these bids and make their recomm- endation. Claims to the amount of $15,549.92 were allowed after which the Board a�djjoourned.
