The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of the said Board , Friday May 28, 1938, at 9 :00 o ' clock A.M. Messrs. Joseph M. Waltermann, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley,. Jr. , being present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read. - Henry Hasecoster was granted permission to cut the curb a distance of 30 ' at Lot #79 Browns Sputhland. Addition. Mr. Burkhardt reported that Earl Moore former lessee of the concession at C-len Miller Park had turned over the two buildings which he had constructed in the park, to the City for his indebtness. The Board accepted this settlement and also approved the contract for the said concession with Tames quigley. • Permission to hold a tent meeting at the west end of Doran Bridge was granted the Pilgrim Holiness Church, said meeting to be from June 8 to 18, 1938. The Board adopted Declaratory Resolution # 271-1938, , for the vacation of the alley north of North A Street and between 7th and 8th Streets, and set the date of June 17 , 1938, at 10 :00 A.M. for the hearing of remonstrances. Permission was granted the WPA to place a desk in the Council Chamber. Mr. Burkhardt reported that he had purchased a power wench for the sum of $165.00. The Board decided that the Ball Park should not be used for entertainment other than baseball or other athletic contests, where an admission was charged.
