OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY APRIL 8, 1938.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of the said Board,
Friday April 8, 1938, at 9 :00 o ' clock A.M. Messrs.
Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr. being present,
the following proceedings were had, to-wit :
Permission to cut the curb a distance of 40' at the
corner of Northwest 2nd and F Streets was granted to
the Miller Kemper Company.
Notice of the change in bus routes as had been
suggested by the City was received and the request made
that this change be confirmed. The Board instructed the
Clerk to notify the Indiana Railway Co. that this change
was satisfactory.
A Petition for bus service on North 19th and around
Morton Lake was received and ordered referred to the
Indiana Railway for investigation.
A petition for a street light at the corner of South
4th and L Streets was referred to Mr. Beck of the Light
Plant.
A request from John O 'Maley that the curb line be set
back on the northeast corner of 17th and Main, was referred
to the City Engineer and the Superintendent of streets
for investigation.
A committee from the industrial Baseball League was
before the Board wanting to know if the soft ball diamond
in Clen Miller Park was going to be used this year or if
the new ones in Clear Creek Park would be ready for use
this year, and stated that they wished to open their
season the 15th of. May. The Board informed this committee
that it was very doubtful if the diamonds in Clear Creek
Park would be ready to use this year, but the ones in
rlen Miller Park would be placed in condition and kept
in as good condition as was possible.
The same committee to know if some arrangement could
not be made for practice diamonds, and were informed by
the Board that it was planned to include such at Clear
Creek Park and that the Municipal Ball Park could also
be used for this purpose.
Permission to place a platform scale at the corner of
North 10th and G Street was denied.
The request for a light at the corner of NW 2nd and
Harris Street was referred to Mr. Beck.

A request for tools for the N. Y.A. from William
Hoch was turned over to Mr. Burkhardt.
A request for yellow curb in front of the Museum was
tabled.
I/ The Board authorized the signing of an agreement
conveying the tracks and over head of the present street
car system to the City of Richmond, Indiana.
Claims to the amount of $2,256.86 were allowed after
which the Board adjourned.
