OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY MARCH 18, 1938.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of the said
Board, Friday March 18, 1938, at 9 :00 o ' clock A.M.
Messrs. Joseph Y. Waltermann, Simeon Hodgin and
William Kelley, Jr. being Present, the following
proceedings were had , to-wit :
The minutes of the Previous meeting were approved
as read.
Mr. Hodgin presented an agreement from WPA whereby
the City agreed to assume full responsibility for the
completion of any Projects that might be started, in
the event that WPA should be discontinued.
Market Master Carl Kutter reported that the roof
at the Market House was leaking badly, and the Board
instructed Mr. Burkhardt to repair the same.
The request for the construction .of a platform in
Glen Miller Lake to be used for a casting platform
was denied, as such activities were not covered in
the liability insurance of the City.
Fire Chief Harry Williams asked permission of the
Board to purchase 5 or 6 hundred feet of fire hose.
The Board granted this permission and instructed the
Clerk to botify the various companies that bids woald
be received on April 1, 1938, at 10 :00 A.M.
Claims to the amount of $15,156.81 were allowed
after which the Board adjourned.
