City Engineer Hodgin recommended that an Arc Light
be installed at South 5th and 0 Streets.
Mr. Hodgin reported that the cost of the sewer petitioned
for on South 4th from N to Q would be $4500.00 to the
City even under WPA and as this amount of money was not
available at this time , he could not recommend the building
of this sewer:
Mr. Hodgin reported that he could purchase the steel
girders for the Whitewater Bridge for the sum of $495.00
for the 6 spans, and asked permission of the Board to make
the purchase at this price. This permission was granted.
Mr. Bate of the School City was before the Board with
an Annexation Ordinance proposing to annex the Maxwell
Addition and 1000 feet south of G Street from the center
of Abington Pike on the west to the corporation limits
on the east. This ordinance was presented to the City
Attorney, who reported the same in due form and was ready
for presntation to the Common Council.
Superintendent Streets Burkhardt reported that he
could purchase a tseiI hot-mix plant for $4,000.00, but
that he did not have this amount available , and wanted to
know if the balance of this amount could not be made up
out of the gasoline funds. Mr. Burkhardt and the City

the State Board of Accounts.
Mr. Bates of the School City asked permission of the
