The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of I/ Richmond, Indiana,met in the' office of the said Board, Friday Tanuary 14, 1938, at 9 :00 o' clock A.M. Messrs. Joseph Waltermann, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr. being present.• the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read. The. Clerk was instructed to place the add' for the receiving of bids for too Police Cars , said bids to be opened Friday January 28, 1938. The Board approved Order No . 1-1938 from the Building Inspector authorizing the use of Celotex under certain conditions. The Board adopted Declaratory Resolution No . 2 1938, • for the vacation of Dodge Street and certain alleys at the site of the new high school, and set the date of Tanuary 28 for the hearing of remonstrances. A discussion was had as to the annexing of certain territory south of the new high school site, and the City Engineer was authorized to conduct a survey in this territory to determine if the same could be done. City Engineer Hodgin reported that easements for the east and souteast sewer had been secured from all the Property owners except one , and that this party was . buying a home on contract and did not hold title to the ground involved and that the City had secured an easement from the holders of the. title. Mr Hodgin asked the City Attorney if we should institute condemnation proceedings to secure this easement. 1!!r. Kelly informed Mr. Hodgin that we should proceed with the work and• force the owner to secure an injunction against the City. Changes in the Detective Room of the Police Department were authorized so as to provide space for the photography department . The Clerk was instructed to prepare an Ordinance for the transfer of the amount of 7 ,000.6Otrifrom the material account of the street department to equipment rental. Claims to the amount of . 9 ,309. 13 were allowed after which the Board adjourned. Attest : City Clerk Mayor.
