FRIDAY NOVE !IBER 5, 1937.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
Richmond , Indiana, met in the office of said Board,
Friday November 5, 1937 , at 9 :00 o ' clock ib the office _
of said Board . Messrs. Joseph. M. Waltermann, Simeon
Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr. , being present, the foll-
owing proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved
as read in Council.
A petition for the placing of cinders in an unimproved
alley between South 7th and 8th and from P to n was
received and turned over to the street department with
unstructions to take care of this work.
A petition for a street light between P and w streets
on South 7th Was also received and referred to Mr. Hodgin
for investigation.
Permission to cut the curb a distance of 15 feet at
Lot # Reeveston View was granted Howard W. Roberts.
Joe Hoch of Harrington-Hoch Co. was before the Board
relative to payments on the compensation insurance and
the company auditor explained fully as to amount of
payments and coverage of the policy.
The Board on motion made final approval of Declaratory
Resolution No. 255-1937 , for the vacation of a part of
Sedwick Street and parts of alleys, and instructed the
Clerk to prepare the assessment roll of benefits and
damages, such benefits to be assessed against the Johns
Mansville Co.
This being the date set for the hearing of remonstrances
on Declaratory Resolution No.256-1937 , and none being
present the Board made final adoption of this Resolution
vacating 20' off the east side of North 14th street
between the railroad and North F. street, and ordered the
Clerk to prepare the assessment roll of benefits and
damages, such benefitsY:being assessed agaainst the Dille
McGuire Company.
Lr. A. Viona was before the Board relative to a prop-
osition from the Taxi Owners Association. Mr. Viona told
the Board that each owner was compelled to pay the sum
of $14 .75 per month per cab for insurance and that the
only companies who would take this insurance were the
ones who were not reliable, and that this association was
being formed for the purpose of creating a fund which
would be raised by assessment amongst the members and this
fund to be used to pay all damage claims. Mr. Viona stated
that it would not be necessary to change the ordinance
but only for the Council to approve this setup. The
Board did not take any action on the Question.
This being the date for the receiving of bids for the
two way police radio, the following bids were opened :
Harvey Radio Laboratories, Inc.
ITEM 1. A. UHX-10R complete mobile radio telephone
installation with remote control for electron coupled
operation of the oscillator. y 160.00
Collapsable fish pale antenna for operation in 30-60
mc. range including mounting bracket and 10 feet of
concentric tubing.
ITEM 1. B. UHX-10R mobile transmitter same as above but
including quartz for crystal control operation of the
oscillator $198.00
ITEM 1. C. One plug-in meter box with three meters for
tuning or checking one or more transmitters

General Electric Company.
ITEM 1 2-15 watt ultra-high-frequency patrol car
transmitters as described in the attached specifications,
RA-3231-B, each 1635.00 Total $1,270.00
ITEM 2 2- Ultra High-Frequency station receivers as
described in the attached bulletin, CEA-2660, each
250.00 total $500. 00.

All these bids were referred to the City Purchasing
Agent, City Engineer, Harold Ritchie and Ellis Duckett
for tabulation, they to report back to the Board at
the meeting of November 12 , 1937.
Claims to the amount of $6,515.44 were allowed after
which the Board adjourned.
