HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-08-1937 385 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS CITY OF RICHTTOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY OCTOBER 8, 1937 . The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City I/ of Richmond, Indiana , met in the office of said Board , Friday, October 8, 1937, at 9 :00 o' clock A.M. Messrs. Toseph M. Waltermann, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Tr. , being Present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read in Council. A representative of the Greyhound Bus Lines was before the Board, asking for a yellow curb in front of their new bus station in order that their patrons might drive up an load and unload . The Board granted this recuest. City Engineer Hodgin presnted a plat for the Wickett Addition, the same being located in Tract 31 & 32 of the Official Map of the City of Richmond . The Board approved this Plat. lYr. Hess was before the Board and read some corr- espondence from the General Electric Company in regards to the report of their traffic engineers, relative to the regulation of the traffic lights, and it vas stated in this report that the purchase of new equipment would not correct this condition. Quite a discussion was had on this subject, and the suggestion was made that the " problem was one of education and that this should be done, also that some one in the Police Department should be assigned to study this Problem. The Mayor asked Councilman Wagner who was present , to work with the Police Department in Preparing an ordinance providing for a . 1. 00 fine for overtime or double parking. Yr. Hodgin also reported that Mr l'en7 had told him -that our traffic survey project had been sent to Washington and no doubt would be approved just as soon as satisfactory supervisors could be selected.
