HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-25-1937 358 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY JUTNE 25, 1937 . The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday June 25, 1937 , at 9 :00 o ' clock A. M. Messrs. Simeon Hoagin and William Kelley, Jr. , being present, I/ the following proceedings were had, to-wit : Mr. Howard Dill of the ;'rater Works Company was before the Board relative to the water main extensions which were ordered by the Board on May 21, 1937 , and the Boardagreed to postpone temporarily the installation of the mains on NW 10th between B and Peacock, South 6th from P to Q and South 4th from M to N. A petition to cut the curb a distance of 20' in front of the old Murrette Theatre at 10th and Main as the Board felt that there was ample space in the rear for ingress and egress. A petition to cut the curb a distance of 12 feet was granted W. E.Ballenger on South 22nd between South B and Reeveston Road. A communication was received from the Travelers Insurance Compnay, informing the Board that the boiler in the City Building should be cleaned and that while some sections were being replaced, this work should be done. The Board ordered the uilding Tnspector to have this work taken care of. A petition for a traffic light at the Corner of 3rd & Main Street was received and the Board decided that no more traffic lichts should be installed until the traffic survey had been completed, however this request was referred to the Light Plant for an estimate. r. Morrow, who at present has the liability insurance in the parks was before the Board with. a telegram from the company he represented, stating that there would be no additional charge for liability insurance on an archery range. Bids for automobile insurance for both the City and the light plant were received and the promised a decision on these policies Monday June 28. I/ Bids were ordered received for one new truck for the street department , notices to be mailed to the local dealers. Claims to the amount of "14,410.82 were allowed after which the Board adjourned.
