The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City I/ of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of. said Board, Friday June 18, 1937 , at 9 :00 o ' clock A. M. Messrs. Joseph M. Walterman and Simeon Hodgin being present the following proceedings were had, to-wit. The minutes of the Dreceeding meeting were approved as read. City Engineer TTodgin reported that he did not feel that the City was justified in placing a street light at the corner of South 4th and L Streets. Fire Chief Harry Williams reported that he had been in Columbus, Ohio during the past week to.:look over the new aerial truck, and that it looked as though the same would be ready for delivery about the first of July. The Fire Chief also reported that the Bell and Wallace Casket Company was moving from their old location on South 4th Street to the Creat States Building on South 8th Street, and this would eliminate the complaints of the smoke nuisance at this plant. The Board denied the request of the Police Depart- ment for an additional motorcycle, and felt that the appropriation in the Account of Motors, should be used for the replacement of some of the old cars of the Police Department. The Fire Chief also reported that the roof at �; 3 Hose House was leaking and the Board ordered the Building Inspector to invetigate and see that this was repaired. Claims to the amount of $5,085. 59 were allowed, after which the Board adjo zrned. Attest : // V Mayor City C_e
