The Board of Public ;'works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday June 11, 1937, at 9 :00 o' clock A. M. Messrs. I/ Joseph M. Walterman, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr. being prsent the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read in Council. A complaint from the South Side Improvement Assn. as to the condition of South /1 Street from 8th to 9th was read . The Board felt that this was just a newly graded street and was in good condition for the amount of use it received. William Morrey, lessee of the Municipal Golf Course was before the Board relative to the W.P.A. work at the golf course, and the Board agreed to visit the course and go over the questions raised by Mr. Morrey and make their decision then. George Brehm was before the Board seeking to have the maximum admission Price at the Municipal Baseball Park raised to 350,i instead of 25,X as specified in the contract . The Board stated that they were not opposed to this price, but had felt that there would be more business at these games, if the lower admission Price prevailed, and that if it was desired to charge 35V admission, they offered no ohjection. Henry Therian asked permission to have the north drive in rlen Miller Park closed off for the holding of a Soap Box Derby, the Board granted this permission. The Board was informed that the addition of insurance to cover an archery range in the park would cost the sum of j 135. 00 for three years, contract. The Board then decided that if the people who wanted this range were willing to assume this expense, the range might be installed otherwise it should not . Notice of an accident which it was alleged was caused by an open manhole on South 9th Street between C and E was received from Albert Erbs..
