HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-12-2006THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JANUARY 12, 2006 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, January 12, 2006, in the Community Room at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members John Kenny, Dian Lawson and Mary Jo Flood. Also attending was Assistant City Attorney Kenyatta Cox. The following business was conducted: CALL TO ORDER Kenny called the meeting to order and noted for the minutes that all board members and legal counsel were present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Kenny made a request to the board to approve the minutes for the January 5, 2006 meeting. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Kenny made a request to the board to approve the claims for payment in the amount of $264,454.61. Some of the larger items were a payment to RP &L for street lights in the amount of $59,000.00, Indiana Associations and Towns dues in the amount of $7,000.00, the annual 911 contribution in the amount of $32,000.00, an annual software agreement for the Police Department in the amount of $13,000.00, a payment for Police Department hand gun upgrades that was encumbered last year in the amount of $45,000.00, another salt purchase for Street Department, inter governmental charge from the Street Department for general fund services, Carpenter interest payment and another RP &L bill. Flood made a motion to approve with a second by Lawson. The motion was unanimously passed. REQUEST A. Kenny made a request to the board to approve a Residential Handicap sign that was submitted by Captain Ponder for Howard Tate at 226 SW 3rd Street. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Flood. The motion was unanimously passed.
