CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
MAY 21, 1937 .
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board,
Friday May 21, 1937 , at 9 :00 o ' clock A.M. Messrs. Josep I/
h
A. Waltermann, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr.
being present the following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the prceeding meeting were approved
as read in Council.
George Brehm appeared before the Board relative to
the leasing of the Municipal Ball Park for a night
game to be played on the date of Tuesday June -8, 1937 ,
and asked that permission be granted to charge 350
admission. The Board allowed Mr. Brehm the privilege
of charging this price for night games.
Permission to cut the curb adistance of 45' on South
5th and aired 30' on South D at the Southwest corner of
South 5th and D Streets.The Board ordered water mains installed as follows :
6" main from M to do? on South 4th Street
6" " " 0 to Q " " 6th "
6tr tt " 0 to Q✓" " 7th "
4 fire hydrants to be placed as the Fire Chief orders.
6" main on Northwest 10th Street form Main Street to
Peacock Road and one fire hydrant at the corner of
Northwest loth and B Streets.
Dick Gimble of the Y.M. C.A. was before the Board
seeking permission to establish an archery range in
Glen Miller Park, this was referred to the Superintendent
of Parks.
Mr. Gimble also asked permission for the boys of the
Sandlot League to use the showers at the Municipal Ball
Park. The Board granted this permission with the under
standing that some one be responsible for these boys.
The following bids were received for a road roller
for the street department :
Tractor & Equipment Co . Chicago, Illinois.
One Davenport Winchell three and -Ehree quarters ( 32)
ton roller as per specifications; all front and rear
rolls, front yoke and cohplete steering mechanism,
roller side members, etc. New.
One International (McCormick Deering) tractor power
plant, clutch, transmission, rianl drive, etc . as per
specifications on Davenport circular and also the
International Model 20 Industrial tractor circular
attached, REBUILT and Guaranteed, rebuilding consisting

of complete motor overhaul, including new sleeves and
pistons and complete checking over hauling and replacement
of worn parts where needed in remainder of machine,
including radiator, clutch, transmission, final drive,
etc.

The Board ordered the roller purchased from the
A. F. Deaney Co. of Indianapolis , Indiana, for their bid
price of 650.00.
Pursuant to typewritten requests sent out by the
Clerk for bids on 500 feet Tore or less of 2'" fire hose
the following bids were opened :

The Board turned these bids over to the Fire Chief and
the City Engineer for their decision and this Committee
recommended that the Buckeye Brand of the Fabric Hose Co.
be purchased, 600 feet at the price of 1.15. The Board
adopted this recommendation.

Claims to the amount of 743. 63 were allowed after
which the Board adjourned .
