HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-19-1937 329 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY MARCH 19, 1937 . The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday March 19, 1937 , at 9 :00 o ' clock A. M. Messrs. Joseph M. Waltermann, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr. being present, the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read in Council. Mr. Bate and Mr. Lybolt of the School City were before the Board in regards to the use of the Muncipal Ball Park for the High School games, and stated that there would nropably be 8 or 10 games played during the season. The Board decided to allow the High School games to be Played at this nark, also to be used for practice purposes and that in the event admission_ was charged the city should receive 15% of the receipts, such permission being given with the express understanding that no games would be played that would intefere with the contract between Frank Kautsky and the City. The Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids on street and road materials for the year 1937 , such bids to be opened April 2 , 1937. The Traffic Survey to be made under WPA was approved by the Board , with the understanding that the necessary funds for the citys share would be transferred from the Special Budget of the Board of Public Works. The Clerk was instructed to get Mr. Hess to furnish estimates on the installation of Traffic Lightt at the corner of North 7th and D Streets. Some discussion was had as to the practice of setting the traffic lights on "Change" during fire runs and it was decided to investigate the nossibiliities of changing this, so that they could be set on "Stop" Complaint was made that the ornamental lights were turned on and off improperly as to daylight . Claims to the amount of $1,734. 38 were allowed at'ter which the Board adjourned. Attest : 9-CZ City Clerk.` C,/
