CITY OF RICH 'OND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY MARCH 5, 1937.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of 'Richmond , Indiana , met in the office of the Board,
Friday March 5, 1937 , at 9 :00 o ' clock A. M. Messrs.
Joseph M. Walterman, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley,
Jr. being present the following proceedings were had,
to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved
as read in Council.
Ti.. Joe Lewis appeared before the Board with a
claim for : 247.00 in favor of Mrs. Lillie Mitchel,
said claim being for medical attention, hospital charges
and nursing care, all of said bills which were incurred
due to the alleged bad condition of the stairway in
the City Building, Which caused the lady to fall. This
claim was referred to the City Attorney for his
recommendation. -
Only one bid was received on the leasing Ball Park
it being from Frank Kautsky and as follows :
15% of the receipts with a minimum of $25.00 for all
Sunday games.
Concession bid :
neorge 7uttermeister $5. 00 per week during
an week that Sunday ball is played.
Earl Moore a flat offer of $50.00 for the season.
John Britten was before the Board and stated that
he was represnting a company who were interested in
presenting a Proposition for the bus franchise. The
Board informed Mr. Britten that they would be glad
to consider any Proposition that he might have to
offer.The following bids were received oh the Police Car:

All these bids were turned over to the Chief of Police
City Purchasing Agent and the City Engineer for
their investigation and recommendation.
Mr. Bowman Elder and a group.,of officials
representing the Indiana Railways, appeared before
the Board in regards to a Proposed bus franchise ,
and after some discussion amongst the group on the111
proposition, and upon the assurance that said bus
line would be operated on a 5cX fare basis and that
the Indiana Railways would have the same conditions
and privileges that they enjoyed under their present
permit , it was decided to draw up an ordinance for
this change and submit the same to the Council.
Claims to the amount of 16,382.35 were allowed
after which the Board adjourned.
