OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY FEBRUARY 19 , 1937.
The Board of Public Works and Sarety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office ' of said
Board, Friday February 19, 1937 , at 9 :00 o ' clock
A. M. Messrs. Joseph. M. Waltermann, Simeon Hodgin
and William Kelley, Jr. being present, the following
proceedings were had,, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were
approved as read.
A complaint was made about the city taking gravel
from the strip of ground in Clear Creek Park, and the
Board informed the complainent that this would not
become a nuisance, but that there was several thousand
dollars worth of gravel in this strip and that it
was only fair that the city should userthis gravel.
A complaint was received about the Atlas Underwear
employees narking around the Howard Apartments, and
was ordered taken up with Mr. Harwood of said plant .
A letter Of thanks for his promotion and an
assurance of complete co operation was received from
Harold Ritchey, Chief Operator of W.P. D.H. Mr. Ritchey
also submitted an estimate of %576.45 for materials
to build and put in operation the new Telegraph
Transmitter. The Board ordered the work done on this
and instructed Mr. Ritchey to purchase parts through
the City Purchasing Agent.
Councilman Ralph Snavely was appointed as a
representative of the City in the Civic Minstrel
Program, with the understanding that the city would
be liable for only $300. 00 of the expenses incurred
in giving said minstrel, also that no fireworks or
explosives would be used.
The Clerk was instructed to Prepare specifications
for the leasing and operation of the Municipal Ball
Park and to place the Proper legal add for said
leasing, the bids to be received at 10 :00 A. M.
March 5, 1937.
The Board agreed to pay the amount of $17. 10 of
the bill rendered the city from the Tohanning Plbg.
Co. as per agreement between the Superintendent of
Streets and Mrs. Keever.
The Board signed the deeds for the transfering of
property between the C. & O. Railroad and the Municipal
Electric Lighting and Power Plant.
Claims to the amount of $8,215.78 were allowed
after which the Board adjourned.
