RESOLUTZON AUTHORZZI'NG I'NCREASED PAYMENT TO B & W
CONSTRUCTI'ON, 1'NC. - SANLTARY SEWER LATERAL REPAI'R / 81
BERNARD STREET
WHEREAS, on August 16, 2001, the Borough ~ Carteret, based upon the
recommendation of the Borough Engineer, 7~& M Associates, adopted
Resolution No. 01-261 awarding a contract to B & W Construction
Company for repair of a damaged sewer lateral connection at 81 Bernard
Street, Carteret, New 3ersey; and ~
WHEREAS, said contract provided for a payment of $4,750.00 to B & W
Construction Company for the above described work based upon the
quote submitted on behalf of B & W; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer, T & M Associates, has advised the
Governing Body that field conditions unforeseen at the time of the
awarding of said contract required B & W to perform additional work for
which it would have been unreasonable to obtain additional quotes; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has recommended that the contract
awarded to B & W Construction Company be increased to a total cost of
$6,652.75 to include the additional work required under said contract and
has further advised the Borough that said amount is reasonable and
justified for said repairs; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has indicated that funding is
available for the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE :IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New .lersey that the
initial contract with B & W Construction Company for the repair of the
damaged sewer lateral connection at 81 Bernard Street in the amount of
$4750.00 is hereby increased to $6652.75 and payment of the same is
hereby approved.
Adopted this 20th day of December, 2001
and certified as a true copy of the
original on December 21, 2001.
