A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DECLARING
OBSOLETE AND NON- FUNCTIONAL COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND
PERIPHERALS (ATTACHMENT `A') AS SURPLUS EQUIPMENT AND
AUTHORIZING THEIR DISPOSAL THROUGH SIMS RECYCLING SOLUTIONS
WHEREAS, certain city -owned computer equipment and peripherals have either
reached the end of their service life or have become obsolete; and
'WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2 -15 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, the City
Council is the Surplus Property Commission, which has the authority to authorize the
disposal of surplus properties; and
WHEREAS, staff researched three certified recycling centers, and feel that Sims
Recycling Solutions would be the best company to recycle the old equipment due to
their reputation and reimbursement rate; and
WHEREAS, the fully amortized equipment has no significant residual value and
the City will be paid $.20 per pound.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood approves surplus
equipment to be recycled by Sims Recycling Solutions and authorizes the City Manager
to, sign an agreement approved by the City Attorney.
Section 2. This Resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 20th day of May, 2014.
