OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,
FRIDAY NOVEt4MBER 27, 1936.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board,
Friday November 27 , 1936, at 9 :00 o ' clock A.M. I/
Messrs . Joseph M. Waltermann, Simeon Hodgin and
William Kelley, Jr. being present , the following
proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved
as read.
A petition for yellow curb at Nos. 2 & 4 South llth
Street was denied in keeping with the traffic ordinance.
The petitioner however was granted permission to park
double for a sueficient length of time to unlCad.
City Engineer Hodgin reported on the cost of operatiai
of the green house in Glen Miller Park, and stated that
this green house was operated by the City at an
annual cost of $1,900.00, and that the amount of flowers
grown and used by the various parks would cost $2,170.00
if purchased from other sources.
City Attorney Kelley reported that he had communicated.
with the Indiana Railway Company in regards to the
practice of allowing their friight cars to use Main
Street , before the hour.:-of 11 :00 o' clock P.M. and that
the company had ordered such practice stopped.
A discussion was had as to amount. of the hydrant
and water main rental the city paid to the Richmond
Water Works Corporation, and it was decided to arrange
a meeting with Mr. Dill to see if this charge could
not be ,reduced.
Claims to the amount of $12,347 . 59 were allowed
after which the Board ad 'ourned.
