A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ENERGY LEADERSHIP
PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Southern California Edison (SCE) has provided outreach to cities to
participate in the SCE Energy Leader Partnership Program (Partnership); and
WHEREAS, by entering into the Partnership, the City will receive various
benefits, such as having audits at selected facilities, technical support through technical
assistance consultants, strategic planning support on energy efficiency and
sustainability, and marketing /outreach materials for the community; and
WHEREAS, by entering into the Partnership, the City will also benefit from the
SCE's Energy Leader Partnership Program Model which provides the City greater
kilowatt hour savings incentives as the City moves up the four tiers; and
WHEREAS, energy savings programs will assist the City in reducing lights and
power costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes City staff to participate in the
Energy Leadership Partnership Program.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager or her designee
to submit the Abstract for the Energy Efficiency Partnership, execute documents
necessary, and /or collaborate' with SCE to initiate the City's intent to join the
Partnership, thus initiating a process for the City to enter into an agreement with SCE to
jointly deliver the Gateway Cities Energy Leadership Program.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 20th day of May, 2014.
