The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana , met in special session, Monday.
November 9 , 1936 et 9 :00 O' clock A.M. Messrs . Josenh
T.falterman, Simeon Wodgin and ". - .
being present, the following :proceedings were had,
to-wit;
The meeting having been called for the purpose of
reviewing the assessment of benefits and damages due
to the adoption of Resolution No .252-1936 , the Board
proceeded to hear from Mr. Howard Dill and Mr. Welter
Butler who represnted the Richmond ';,ater l orks Company.
_1-ter hearing these gentlemen the Board decided to
allow damages to the Water Works Company of '$200. 00
for the re-locating of two fire hydrants, and the
city agreed to -;ay the rental on the water mains on
North 16 and 17th Street , the Board feeling that these
mains were needed for fire protection.
The Board then heard Yr. Jay Stanley and Brandon
a'riffis , attorneys for Frank and .2 nary Do7za, who were
protesting the fact that there were no damages awarded
their clients . The Board after hearing the attorneys
for Yr. . & Yrs. Dozza , also Mr. Keller representing the
Wayne Works , adopted the following Resolution :

BR IT RESOLVED that the Assessment Roll adopted
October 24, 1936, concerning benefits and damages
occasioned by the vacation of parts of North 16th & 17th
streets and an alley between North 17th & 18th streets ,
shall be modified as follows :
Damages to the Richmond CityWater ';:orks for moving
two fire hydrants y200. 00
Damages to Mary and Frank Dozza, owners of lots
Numbers 1 ,2 , 3,4 in Charles T'. Coffin' s Third` ;Addition
to the City of Richmond, Indiana 1,000. 00
Cost of proceedings $31.42
Benefits to the ayne '';orks , owner of the following
real estate : .Blocks 1 & 2 in J.M. Starr' s .'_ddition,
Tract652 Official Hap , Lots #54 to 62 inclusive in
'Highland Addition, Lots t1 to 4 inclusive in Hawkins
Springs ^sddition, Lots i.!42 to 49 inclusive in Highland
.ddition, Lots ;#29 to 32 inclusive in Hawkins Springs
Addition, Lots T34 to 41 inclusive in the Highland
Addition, Lots t33 to 36 inclusive in Hawkins Springs
^:ddition, because of the acquisition of the fee simile
title it gains by reason of being the owner of the
land abutting on said streets and alley vacated.

Said assessment roll as above adopted shall be final
and the Clerk will deliver the same to the Department
of Finance of the City, as by law prescribed.
The Board then adjourned.
