HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-06-1936 298 Office of the Board of Works City of Richmond , Indiana, Friday: November 6, 1936. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session, Friday November 6, 1936, in the office of said Board . Messrs. Joseph M. Walterman, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr. being present , the following proceedings were had, to-wit : The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read in Council. Permission to cut the curb for two 30 feet driveways on South 7th Street in C.era. Starr t s Addition was granted Norman Jenkins with the understanding that he would replace the curb in the present drive . Mr. Hodgin reported that tests had been made of the new radio transmitter and that the same was working perfectly. City Attorney Kelley reported that the damage case of the manager of the Sherman White Company for alleged injuries suffered on the city streets was still Pending . In regards to the vacation of certain streets and an alley adjacent to the Wayne Works, the Board having met to -hear objections as to the assessments of benfits and damages , heard an objection from the Richmond Water Works Company, Bessie Hornady and Frank and Mary Dozza. The Board took under advisement the claim of the Water Works and Frank and Mary Dozza and stated that they would render a decision at 9 :00 A.M. on Monday November 9 , 1936. In the case of Bessie Hornady damages were denied since the Board did not feel that there was any justice in the claim presented. Claims to the amount of 613,329 .81 were allowed after which the Board adjourned. Jaya . Attest : I/ 4/2' City Clerk.
