The Board of Public vforks and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board,
Friday October 8, 1936, at 9 :OO-,o' clock A.M. Messrs .
Simeon Hodgin and William Yelley, Jr. being present
the following proceedings were had to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved
as read in the Council.
The Board met to hear remonstrances on Declaratory
Resolution 252-1936. The Clerk read the Petition and
the Resolution, Mr. Byrum Robbins, William Hornady
and Thlter Butler appeared for the remonstrators , and
all stated that they did not want to block any
expansion program of the Wayne Works yet they did
not approve of the closing of these streets , and
felt that some different plan should be _adopted.
Mr. Butler represented the V;ater Works Company and
stated that they were no opposed to the adoption of
the Resolution but that the Water Company had certain
valuable rights in this territory and that these rights
should be protected.
Mr. Will Reller represented the Wayne Works and
urved the Board to vacate these streets. The Board after
hearing all persons present , decided to take the question
under consideration and reserve final action at this time.
The following bids were received for a truck for
the street department :
