City of Richmond, Indiana,
Friday July 24, 1936.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board,
Friday July 24, 1936, Messrs.
Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley., Jr. being present, 11
the following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The mihutes of the preceeding meeting were approved
as read in Council.
Suprintendent of Streets and Parks , Albert Burkhardt,
stated that he had requests from womens clubs for
permission to give card parties in Glen Miller Park,
and he wanted the opinion of the Board in regards to
this . The Board felt that since this had never been
allowed and would no doubt cause a great deal of
criticism, that it would not be good policy to grant
permission.
A petition for the installation of a light at the
alley near the intersection of North 22nd and Glen
Court was received and referred to the Engineering
Department for investigation.
A communication was read .from Mr. Hess in regards to
a bill filed ap.ainst the Light Plant by McKechnie-
Peirce Co .. and asking th opinion of the Board as to
what disposition he should make of the same. Mr. Hodgin
stated that all of the items were out of order, unless
it would be the one for the moving of the coal and he
was not familar with this item, and he recommended that
the bill be turned over to Mr. Hurd for investigation
to see if under the specifications and Change Order #4,
the Plant was under any obligation to McKechnie-Peirce.
Building Inspector Ed Higgs was instructed to have
the tile floor in the corrider on the first floor . repaired.
Floyd Breithaupt wanted to know if the Board was
interested in receiving aproposition for the installatin n
of an automatic draft control for the City Building. The III
Board informed Mr. Breithaupt that he could submit a
proposition but the City would not be obligated in any
way to purchase. -
Councilman George Brehm Presented a petition for the
' leasing or renting of the Municipal Ball Park starting
August 8, 1936. The Board did not take any action on
tris petition.
Claims to the amount of <j 3,725.49 were allowed after
which the Board adjourned.
