APPROVING CHANGE ORDER #1
MISCELLANEOUS BASE REPAIR PROGRAM
WHEREAS~ the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret has previously
awarded a contract to the DeFino Contracting Co., in the amount of
$106,120.00, for the Miscellaneous Base Repair Program; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for this project, T & M
Associates, has advised the Governing Body that a modification to said contract
is needed to reflect "as-built" quantities utilized in the performance of said
contract; and
WHEREAS, said modification to the contract will result in a net reduction of
$58,254.04 for said work; and whereas T & M Associates has recommended that
the above described contract be modified in accordance with Change Order # 1;
(see attached); and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body has reviewed said Change Order # i and
considered the Engineer's recommendation in light of the net reduction in
amount of the contract provided for pursuant to said Change Order #1.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE :IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council of
the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
(1) Contract Change Order # 1, attached hereto and made a part
hereof, resulting in a reduction in the contract of $58,254.04 and the
payment of the revised contract price for the Miscellaneous Base Repair
Program Contract with DeFino Contracting Co. in the total amount of
$47,856.96 is hereby approved.
(2) That the appropriate Borough officials are hereby authorized to
execute Change Order #1.

and certified as a true copy of the
original on December 21, 2001.
