City of Richmond, Indiana,
Friday April 10, 1936.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said
Board, Friday April 10, 1936 at 9 :00 o ' clock AM.
Messrs. Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr, being
present , the following proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved
as read in Council.
The Board decided to -approve the contract with
Dr. H. D. Clark as dog catcher for the months of April
13, 1936 to June 13, 1936, at a salary of $150.00 per
month.
The Clerk was instructed to notify the Collins
Radio Co . to arrange for delivery of the Police Radio
transmitter on May 10, 1936.
The Board approved and sip-ned an agreement for
underground service at the new Police Radio Station:
Edward Jacobs of. 119' Southwest F Street was granted
permission to tap a sewer for a fee of 15.00 and with
the understanding that in the event a sewer is built
in the future that MMr. Jacobs would be subject to the
same assessment as the other property owners in this
locality.
The Clerk was instructed to draw an appropriation
k/ ordinance for the sum of ` 3,000.00, said appropriation
to be used for the purpose of compromising the damage
suit, caused by an explosion of fireworks during the
Civic Minstrel in Glen Miller Park during the former
administration and said sum was to cover the cities
share of all damages including doctor and hospital
bills.
City Controller George Coons brought up the question
as to what action he should take in repards to the
12700.00 shortage charged to the account of E.H.
Bradfield, former Weight and Measure Inspector, by the
State Board of ccounts . The Board decided to have the
City Attorney file a claim against the United States
Fidelity and Guaranty Co .
Mrs Bert Kimmel representing the Ben Hur Lodge was
before the Board in regards to a tree planting project
and the Clerk was instructed to notify Mrs .Kimmel by
mail that this permission was granted and that she
should get in touch with Superintendent of Parks

Burkhardt in regards to location for said tree
planting also as to the time of same.
II Claims to the amount of $39 ,166.89 were allowed,
after which the Board adjourned.

ADD CORRECTION
The Clerk was instructed to draw an appropriation
ordinance for the sum of 84,000.00, said appropriation
to be used for the purpose of compromising the damage
suit caused by the explosion of fireworks, during the Civic
Minstrel in Glen Miller Park during the former administration
and said sum was to cover all claims for injuries, doctor
an hospital bills, and in the event the insurance company
fails to nay these claims, then the Palladium Publishing
Company agrees to pay to the City of Richmond, $1,000.00.
