Friday December 13, 1935.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said
Board, Friday December 13, 1935, at 9 :00 o ' clock

A.M. Messrs . Joseph Y. .Walterman, Simeon Hodgin
and William Kelley, Jr. being present , the following
proceedings were had, to-wit :
The minutes of the prceeding meeting were approved
as read.
The Clerk was instructed to have the proper legal
advertisement placed for the leasing of the Glen
Miller Golf Course and to use the specifications and
contract as had been Prepared by City Attorney Kelley,
and that said bids would be received Friday December
27 , 1935 at 10:00 o' clock A.M.
City Attorney Kelley presented a'_copy..of the option
which the Board of Works had been instructed to secure
on the Airport , Mr. Kelley also read the Indiana State
Law on the acquiring of airports by cities and counties,
and advised the Board that according to law, the bond
issue would have to be for at least •31,000.00, the
Board decided to go ahead and secure the option on
said airport and allow the Council to determine what
steps should be taken to finance the same.
Pursuant to the legal advertisement, bids were
received on new radio equipment, as follows :
Graybar Electric Company. Western Electric Equipment .
1 - '309 Western Electric 100 Watt police radio
broadcasting transmitter-.,with two (2 ) AC cut crystals
(one is spare) - the transmitter will be satisfactory
for operation at either 50 or 100 watts-
1 - set of vacum tubes for transmitter
1 - Antenna coupling unit with Isolanite type
transmission line to antenna.
i/S9 type amplifiers (one for remote control
with relay system)
2 - #600A carbon microphones with desk type mountings
Completely installed for the sum 4,990. 00.

with spare crystal as per specifications in attached
folder delivery and installation ---- : 3, 160.00
As an alternative we can supply the same unit to . _.
comply with your issued specifications with the
exception-that the crystal would still operate
at fundamental frequency. To so revise the ET
5015-AA5016 RCA Transmitter will require an

additoonal cost bringing our bid on the revised unit
to delivery and installation $5, 152. 00

Complete installation ; 4, 224.00
On motion regularly made and seonded the Board
rejected all bids.
The Board decided that the Assistant Street Comm.
should have his phone and garage rent paid by the City,
since both were required by his Position.
Claims to the amount of $7 ,100 . 61 were allowed
after which the Board adjourned.
