The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,gmet in the office of said Board, Friday September 13, 1935, at 9 :00 o' clock A.M. Messrs. Joseph M. Walterman, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr. being present,the following proceedings were had, to-wit : • The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved as read. City Engineer Hodgin reported that Indiana Avenue could be placed in proper condition with VPA labor. On the recommendation of Mr. Charles Hurd, the Board approved the sub-letting of the contract for the furnishing and complete installation of Flashings and Gutter, Slate Roofing and Built-up Roofing, with the distinct understanding that all local labor be employed on this work. City Engineer Hodgin and Superintendent of Streets Burkhardt were authorized to make a trip to Chicago to inspect the fence for the Clear Creek ball park. Robert Reid of the Palladium Publishing Corporation appeared before the Board and explained plans for a Fall Festival and asked the permission and cooper- ation of the Board in allowing certian streets of the city to be used for this festival, the Board agreed to cooperate in this project with the under- standing that the Fire and Police Departments should be consulted in regards to the blocking of any streets. Monthly estimates for the Sewage Treatment Works wer allowed as follows : Max Irmscher and Sons Division I P33,982.49 MoKechnie Pierce Co .
