City of Richmond, Indiana,
Friday August 23, 1935.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board
Friday August 23, 1935, at 9 :00 o' clock A.M. Messrs.
Joseph M. Waaterman, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley,
Jr. being present, the following proceedings were
had, . to-wit :
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were approved
as read in the Council.
A request for a yellow curb by the Kofski Studio
on North A Street was referred to the Police Department.
A petition to cut the curb on South 5th was recieved
from the Wayne Dairy Co . Said petition was granted.
A communication was recieved from •th'e Police Radio
Department asking the Boards permission to purchase
$94.00 worth of repairs for the radio station, the
Board approved this request with the understanding
this material be purchased through the City Purchasing
Agent.
A change work order for the sewer at the Main -
Street Bridge was approved by the Board.
City Purchasing Agent Ray Stevens submitted the
following bids on coal to be used in the City Building
Fire Houses and Detention Hospital:

per ton, Special Stoker $3.40.

The Board awarded 150 tons Island Creek to the
Neiwoehner Long Co at $3.40 per ton the city to haul
coal from siding to the buildings where used.
Klehfoth Voss 100 tons Poca. mine run $4.76.
Mather Bros. 50 tons Poca. Nut $4.86 delivered by
city.
Muff Coal Co . 15 tons Poca. Lump $6.85 delivered.
Bill Morrey Superintendent of the Golf Course
appeared before the Board and stated that he had
been assigned a group of men through-WPA and wanted
to know about funds to purchase materials for the
completion of the Golf Course extension, the Board
informed Mr. Morrey that there was a certian amount
of money appropriated and he would have to limit
his work to this amount.
City Engineer Hodgin reported that he had plans
completed for a sewer on North D at 19 and 20th
Streets completed and it would require an appropriation
of around $2,000.00 to handle this job.
The Board ordered Chief. of Police Vogelsong to
have Alphonse Toney stop selling novelties at the
entrance to Glen Miller Park.
Toe Clerk was ordered to have Briethaupt Electric
Co. inspect the stoker in the City Building..
Claims to the amount of $2,236.04 after which the
Board adjourned.
