City of Richmond, Indiana,
Friday April 12, 1935.
The Board of Works of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the offices o•f' said Board,
Friday April 12, 1935, at .9 :00 o ' clock A.N.
Messrs. Joseph M. Walterman, Simeon Hodgin
and William Kelley, Jr. being present, the
following proceedings 'were` had, to-wit :
Minutes of the preceeding meeting were read
and approved. .
City Engineer Hodgin reported that he presented
the proposed agreement with American Solvent Corp .
to Mr.' Charles Hurd who was taking the question
of patents up with the Superintendent of the
Indianapolis Disposal Plant , Mr Hodgin also stated
that he had taken up the water main extension on
North 18th with Mr. Dill and that the signs sat
8th and Main had been taken down and washed and
were now visible. •
A petition was received for an Arc Light at the
Corner of North West K Street, . but no action was
taken on the same. .
A request for permission to cut a curb at 829
North E Street . The Board granted this request .
Mr. Hodgin read a letter from the Pennsylvania
Railroad_ wherein they stated that they were in
favor of the crossing elimination at .North 12th
Street but were not in a position to help finance
any part of this ' improvement , Mr Hodgin further
stated that he had been unable as yet to secure
any information as to how the funds from the •
Goverment were to be distributed and that Mr. Logan
P.W.A. Engineer had promised to furnish this
information as soon as it was available.

The Perpetual Lease entered into between the
City and Reid Memorial Hospital in the year 1928
was discussed and the point was brought out that
this lease provided that the Hospital should, to
have made this lease good, have occupied this
ground before the 5 year period mentioned in the
lease, had expired. Yr Hodgin and Mr. Burkhardt
were instructed to visit this ground and to see •
if it were not valuable enoughtto be retained by .
the City.
There being no further business tocome before
the Board itnadjourned. Claims 12 ,468.05. .
