Office of the Board of Works
City of Richmond,Indiana,
Monday April 1, 1935.
The Board of Works of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the offices of said Board, Monday-
April 1, 1935 at 9 :00 o ' clock A.M. Messrs. Joseph:,.
Walterman,,. Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr.
being present, the following proceedings were
had, to-wit :
Minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and
approved.
Mayor reported that the Chief of Police had asked
to be allowed to change the proposed route for trucks
and that he had granted this permission.
The Mayor requested that the Clerk draw up a
resolution for Mr. Harry Besselman' s Widow and that
it be read at Council meeting and he also requested
that the offices in the City Building be closed
from 2 :00 o ' clock Tuesday afternoon, out of respect
for Mr. Besselman.
• Mr. Ross Harrington presented a letter from the
Dayton Purification Systems Inc. which was read
and Mr. Harrington given the assurance of the. Board
that the complaints against Mr. Hurds report would
be investigated. Mr. Shook of the above company
also appeared before th Board in regards to the
same report .
Mr. Hess of the M.E.L.& P.P. appeared before the
Board and spoke about the proposed merchandising the
New Business Department, were planning 'and asked if
it were legal for the Municipal Plant to finance the
dealers in electrical appliances so that the Plant
might be able to collect for these appliances in
,small monthly payments.
The Board approved Improvement Resolution # 2-1935
pertaining to the installation of ornamental lights
on the various streets selected and recomended by the
Utility Committee.
There being no Further business to come before
