Office Of the Board of Works
City of Richmond, Indiana,
Friday March 29, 1935.
The Board of Works of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the offices of said Board, Friday
March 29, 1935 at 9 :00 o' clock A. M. Messrs. Joseph
M. Walterman, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr.
being present the following proceedings were had, to-wtt
Minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and
approved.
Petition fortjan Arc Light between West 7th and
8th. Street and Peacock and Richmond Avenue was
referred to the City Engineer for investigation.
The question of routing trucks through the
City so as to keep them of the- Main Street was
discussed by the Board and the Following decision
was made ;
Eastbound traffic, over the. South G Street
Bridge then to South E Street and out South E Street
to 23rd, then up 23rd Street to Main then East on
Main.
Westbound traffic, turn off Main Street
at 16th go south to A Street then down South A
Street to Third Street and down Third Street to
Main.
The Board ordered the Clerk to so notify
the Chief of Police and that this route was to
enforced from 7 :00 a.m. until 9 :00 p.m.
City Engineer Hodgin reported that it was possible
for the City to have a Federal Housing Survey made
at a very small expense to the City and that it
would be neseccary to allow them to use space in
No . 3 Hose House, the Board decided to cooperate
with the F.E.R.A. in this project .
Fire Chief Harry Williams reported the bad
condition of the Pennsylvania crossing at North
15th street and the Board ordered the Clerk to
get in touch with the proper officials of said -
railroad in an effort to have this crossing
repaired. -
The Board decided that the concessions at the
Glen Miller Park should be kept seperate from the
Golf Course and that what ever revenue that should
accrue from the concession on the said golf course
should revert the Golf Funds and not to any individual.

the Clerk was also instructed to prepare the
legal adds for bids on the concession at the Park
and date same so that the Board of Works might
take action on same at their meeting of April 30.
