HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-15-1935 101 Office of the Board of Works City of Richmond, Indiana, Friday March 15, 1935. The Board of Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the offices of said Board, Friday March 15, 1935, : at 9 :00 o ' clock A.M. Messrs . Joseph M. Walterman, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr. being present the following proceedings were had, to-wit : Minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. Mr. Herman Kutter appeared before the Board and asked to have the yellow curb line removed from in front of his store at the corner of 16th and Main Streets . The Board. " promised Mr. Kutter that they would visit this corner and if their was no reason why this line should not, be removed. they would order it done . City Attorney Kelley read a communication from the Attorney General of the State of Indiana, stating that the members of the former administration were entitled to the amount of ,' 480. instead, of the 600 . which they had been paid and recomended to Council that the amount of $480 . be paid to Mr. Simeon Hodgin and Mr. Ray'L.Shively, and that the Controller collect the amount of $120 . from Former Mayor Harris and City' Controller Jess Bond. Yr.. Haas of the F.E .R .A. appeared before the Board and stated that the book which would be required to ,place the Health records in proper shape , would cost the sum of .;'15 .50 and asked the permission of the Board to make this expenditure . ' The Board instructed mr. Haas to go ahead and make this purchase . A petition for a Water Main on South 0 Street from 9th to 14th Streets was recieved and referred to the City Engineer for investigation. Copy of a legal add for the purchase of 3 new cars and the trading of 3 old cars was recieved from the Police Department , for the approval of the Board, this approval was granted and the Clerk instructed to prepare the Legal adds for same . II A request was also recieved fro the Street Department for the purchase of a new truc to be used as a replacement and permission to trade in one 1928 model Ford truck, the Board also granted this request and instructed the Clerk to pepare the Legal adds for same . The Board discussed the proposition of purchasing some of the Sewage Bonds and the Controller was instructed to make arrangements to have Mr. Richardson of the Citys Service Corporation present at the next meeting of Council and explain the proposition. 1 02 \ The Clerk was instructed to notify the members offCouncil to be present at 7 :00 o ' clock on Monday in order to hear the proposition of the purchasing of Sewage Bonds . - Mr. Hess of .the M.E..L.& P .P. appeared before I/ the Board and gave a report of the trip to Cleveland and Mansfield, taken by the Utility committee of Council . - There being no further business to come before the Board it adjourned.
