The Board of Works of the City of Richmond, • Indiana, met in the offices of said Board Friday March 8, 1935, at 9 :00 o' clock A.M. The Messrs .. Joseph M. Walterman, Simeon Hodgin and William Kelley, Jr. being present , the following proceedings were had to-wit :. - City Attorney -Kelley reported that the damage suit against the City filed by Mrs . .Mise had been ri dissmissed and the costs " assessed against the plaintiff . The Mayor stated that some of the people had the impression that when they bought a tag for their dog, that said dog was allowed to run at large over the streets, but this was not the case and ordered the City Clerk to notify Dr.H.D.Clark to collect these dogs and notify their owners . • The Mayor also stated that if the City intended to submit a valuation on the City Light Plant for taxation purposes, such valuation must be made by the date of March 10 and stated that Mr: Hess. Y' had told him that the former City Attorney Mr. Shively had informed him that it was not /wceg§gpy. for the City to do this, but Mr. Hess also wanted the opinion of Mr. Kelley on this question. Mr. Kelley stated that in his opinion it was not n.ecessary. City Engineer Hodgin stated that he believed that the proposed extension of the Ornamental Lighting System should be referred to the Planning Commission, so that there would be no legal loophole for any property owner who might object to said extension, I/ to escape payment of his or her assessment ., An Arc Light was ordered installed, at . the corner of. South 15th and H Street and the Clerk was instructed to so notify Mr.Hess . City Controller George Coons submitted the report of the Building Inspector pertaining to the work to be done on the house located on the National Road in Glen Miller Park. The Board ordered this report accepted and the work done . • 99 • • Fire Chief Williams reported that the• F.E.R.A. • had asked for the use of the back room in NO . 4 Hose House and stated that they wanted this room to give instructions in first aid, Mr.Williams • explained that the use of this room would not a. • intefere With the Fire Department in any way and asked spermission of . the Board: to grant this request : The . Board approved this request . . Market M'asteta�N.CarlKutter reported that he had' a complaint from' a Per. Randall, .owner. off' the • property immediately south of the Market house, that trucks from the Market House were driving „ on his yard and that the tenant was complaining and. asked that the City place some sort of a fence • or barrier there to prevent this, during a discussion • of this question it was decided to have Mr. Burkhardt investigate the ownership of the hitching rack at 4th and Main Streets and if this .was City property he should remove •same from this location and install at the Market House . • Mr. Mutter also stated that he 'needed 75 feet - of garden hose at the Market House so that he might be able to• keep this place clean. The Board instructed the City Clerk to notify City Purchasing • Agent Stevens, to secure this hose for Mr. Kutter. • On account. of the opening of the bids for the sale of- the bonds for the construction of the sewage disposal plant the, Board decided to meet . on Monday .March 11 . • There being no further business to come before the Board it adjourned. • res 'dent of the Board Attest : 2.&4,146472,2i City Clerk.
